The tension mounted during the Radio One chart show.
A special episode of Popstars showed Hear'Say listening to
the top 10 countdown.  As soon as they heard that "Uptown Girl"
was number 2, the band knew that they had hit number 1.

"Pure and Simple" sold over half a million copies.
In the history of the chart show, only Band Aid and
Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" have topped this.
